Underwood Building Bridgeport

4/3/99 The Underwood Building in downtown Bridgeport collapses in a cloud of dust after 330 pounds of strategically placed dynamite was set off to implode the building. The building, built in the 1920's, was originally a typewriter manufacturing plant. The implosion was carried out by Precision Explsives Inc. of Seaford, New York to make way for a 300 car parking lot for the adjacent Harbor Yard Stadium, home of the Bridgeport Bluefish baseball team.
