7. Rudy Gay, eighth overall, Houston, 2006: Gay averaged 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds for the Grizzlies, who acquired him two weeks after the draft (with Stromile Swift) for Shane Battier. In his second season, Gay nearly doubled his production, averaging 20.1 points and 6.2 rebounds. As a rookie, he and the Grizzlies finished 22-60, fifth in the Southwest Division.
