  3. Today's Buzz: Did Obama target Fox News?

The Washington Post reported this week that the Justice Department had secretly obtained phone records and emails for James Rosen, chief Washington correspondent for Fox News, in an investigation of his possible involvement in leaks of classified information. The department named him a “co-conspirator” in the case, though it did not charge him with a crime. The Obama Administration has been a frequent target of criticism from Fox News, and complained about it. Do you think the administration probe of the network’s reporter was retaliation? Or is this just a case of the administration being overly aggressive in targeting the media in general for leaks? It was reported last week that in another investigation, the department seized records of Associated Press phone calls. What do you think? Talk about it!

  5. Is Obama Richard Nixon?

Despite what you may hear from some of his more fevered critics, President Barack Obama's recent scandal-quakes don't appear to fall anywhere near the level of Richard Nixon's Watergate scandal. But by another Nixonian yardstick, trying to muzzle on press freedoms, Team Obama appears to have surged into the lead.

  9. John Dean: Obama's scandals are more like Harding's than Nixon's

During President Barack Obama's May 16 news conference, reporter Jeff Mason asked as part of his question: "And, more broadly, how do you feel about comparisons by some of your critics of this week's scandals to those that happened under the Nixon administration?" The president responded, "I'll let you guys engage in those comparisons, and you can go ahead and read the history, I think, and draw your own conclusions."
